Sure you can upgrade it to an SSD, but you are just adding more and more costs, bringing this thing almost over 1,000 dollars after all of those upgrades. With a 5400 rpm hard drive, this thing will feel dated an hour into using it. If you want something with a resolution as high as the Macbook Pro, you begin to enter the Macbook Air range. That will bring your total up to 700 dollars really fast. What you forget is you need to supply the keyboard, mouse, and monitor. You get an aging CPU, RAM that is not upgradable, amazingly slow storage, and a very small design. The Mac Mini is a great option for someone that wants to get MacOS for under 500, before tax.

But please do not buy this aging piece of crap machine, buy and iPad Pro instead. This is a terrible buy, but not nearly as bad as the Macbook (12 inch). It is essentially a Macbook (12 inch) but has the lowest resolution screen on a modern laptop you could probably find. Do no buy this, steer as far away from this computer as possible. All in all if you buy this laptop you are straight up silly and did not do you homework. It has a similar screen, similar resolution, substantially higher geekbench score, and costs less than half.

That is trash, every flagship phone that has come out in 2017 essentially scores the same score… If you want the most portable option, get an iPad pro. This thing has a core m3 as the processor for the base model and it costs 1299!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? The core m3 is a terrible CPU that scores under a 7000 on geekbench. The Macbook is for someone that wants an entry level Macbook, but wants to save a couple hundred bucks. The Macbook (12 inch) is a perfect for someone that does not need a core i7, or 16 gb of RAM, or a dedicated graphics chip. You need to ask yourself, do I really need a CPU that is more powerful, or will a cheaper option work better for me? Which brings me to the next option, the Macbook (12 inch). The problems with Macbook Pro’s are the entry cost. Take me for example, I do not do anything intensive on my Macbook Pro 2013 base model, but it does exactly what 95% of people want to do: watch Netflix on a high resolution screen, get emails, surf the web, and edit the occasional video.
Simply because they have enough CPU power and RAM to last most users a very long time. While they are not as powerful as a desktop, and they do not have an upgrades, they are a viable option for most. The people that are buying Macbook Pro’s are more than likely looking for a computer that is going to last them a long time. Who is the type of person to buy each one of these computers?Ī Macbook Pro is for the professional on the road… That is a trash answer. But you are not here because you want to hear that all of these computers are similar, you are here because you want to purchase a Mac, and you are not sure which one to buy. These computer are all totally different, but they can all do the same basic tasks.
The iMac Pro comes out later this month, but I still feel like it is necessary to include it in this comparison.
